'Lifeline' dial-a-ride is a success six months on.
[09/06/05 B&NES]
THE Norton Radstock dial-a-ride service has been running for six months and now has more than 250 registered users.
Funded by Bath & North East Somerset Council, Norton Radstock Town Council and the Countryside Agency, the fully accessible low floor bus makes journeys in and around Midsomer Norton, Westfield and Radstock (including Paulton Hospital) Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm.
It costs just £2 to register for the scheme per year and journeys (which are door to door) cost £2 for a return fare.
Leaflets containing a registration form can be found in many local shops in Norton Radstock as well as libraries, The Hollies, doctor surgeries and hairdressers.
For bookings and advice about the dial-a-ride call Tel: 01761 420042.
The dial-a-ride is run by a team of local volunteers who are actively looking for more helpers and volunteers drivers at the moment. If you think you may be interested please call the number above and ask to speak to Carol Curtis.
