- so here we are, Shoscombe's very own village home page online,
- now all we need is for you, the residents of Shoscombe, to pick up the baton and join in the race . . .
- local events, clubs, stories, news, birthdays, photo's, old picture postcards, anecdotes and similar memorabilia is what we need - and plenty of it! |

The Shoscombe Parish Council held its latest meeting on 23rd November 2006. Some 8 members were present and a number of issues were discussed, not least of which was publishing the address of this web site on our notice boards!
The Council has asked BANES to look at various roads in the Parish which are breaking up. Unfortunatley BANES describe these roads as 'low use' and as such do not recieve priority!
We are looking for some kind person to take over production of our village newsletter as those that have splendidly done it for a number of years wish to relinquish the task. Any volunteers?
The council has written a letter to BANES thanking them for the work carried out in Single Hill, Shoscombe recently which has reduced the amount of surface water on the road in heavy rain.
Any comments to the Chair of the Parish Council, Nick Worsfold - 01761 431427

Latest from the Parish Council meeting held on 1st Feb 2007.
7 Members present together with one member of the public.
A suggestion has been made to erect a 'traffic mirror' at the bottom of Single Hill to assist with the exit onto the hill. Pricing is being looked into by the Clerk.
There is an issue with the state of the retaining wall near Applecroft in the village and Building Control will be asked to have a look at the wall.
There appears to be a problem with heavy vehicles entering our narrow lanes, either through ignorance or as a result of following sat nav instructions. There have been at least four in the last couple of months, one of which caused a road closure for 24 hours and the others have caused damage to varrying degrees. Advise is to be sought from Traffic Management as to the best way forward.
The entrance to the village hall has been completed and now looks 'superb'. Many thanks to Nick Worsfold and the Probation Service.
